Wild n’ Wooly!

Last winter the Edina Mayor Jim Hovland said that he’s heard the West End is getting “wild and wooly.” This related specifically to the fun and excitement taking place at and around our client, The Shops at West End. While fun and rather silly, West End and the folks at Discover St. Louis Park were not going to take that without acting just a little wild (we’re still not entirely sure what wooly means). So MOD was asked to create billboards to put at the corner of 50th and France, the epicenter (although not geographically) of Edina. The billboards stayed up for two months and we’ve not heard no wild nor wooly since!

MOD does Healthy: The Healthy Food Shelves Campaign

Check it out! Some items we did for the Healthy Food Shelves campaign! A campaign that challenges the notion that only non-perishable foods can be donated to food shelves and stresses the importance of donating healthy food items as well.

The Holidays Are Here!

Yes, they are. And here at Mod we are preparing for a fantastic year ahead. We've been celebrating already at the annual Mod holiday party. Always a night to remember. This one was at Mission American Kitchen and then onto the Fine Line for dancing. We had a blast! Best wishes to all for a safe holiday.

The MOD crew (except Britt) and friends. Where is Britt anyway?

Go Green Saturday

gogreensaturday.com is under construction, but here is the overview:

Go Green Saturday invites you to shop small. By shopping Green Line businesses for your holiday shopping or everyday shopping, you help support the businesses affected by light rail construction.

On Saturday, November 24th, the Green Line in St. Paul and Minneapolis will be offering festivities and fun from hayrides to carolers, from kid's games to holiday movies, there will be a bit of holiday cheer for the entire family. Participating businesses along the Green Line will be joining in the spirit by hosting activities such as face painting, balloon animals, hot cider and hot chocolate, music, games and much more!

In addition, there will be 10 businesses along the Green Line where you can pick up your FREE Green Line tote bag. In each bag will be a map and a list of activities to check out. Be one of the first 50 to bring back your Green Line receipts, totaling $50 or more, to one of these 10 businesses and receive a gift card from that business worth $20.

Oh, and did we mention, buses along the Green Line are free this day for shoppers? That's right! Just go to the soon to be posted link and download your pass. It's good all day no matter how many times you get off and on the bus!

Check back soon to view the Go Green Saturday site and then check back often and watch our event list grow!

A Vegetarian's Delight

That's right! This place is the Falafel headquarters of the Twin Cities. Located in the Raymond Creative Enterprise Zone, Erica, welcomes all Falafel lovers into her store via Twitter and Facebook. She is a social media maven and started her brand with the Foxy Falafel food truck. Currently she operates her food truck and her quaint restaurant on Raymond Avenue. The menu is small, but satisfying. The Foxy Falafel, pictured below, is amazing, but the Curry Falafel is to die for!

What's a Falafel Sandwich?
A deep-fried ball of ground chickpeas, favabeans or both, usually served in a pita.

Here's the group: Luke, Seth & Natalie in the back row; Christina, Jana & Britt in the front row

Yesterday we had the pleasure of speaking with Jerry from the Community Reporter who is writing a business feature on MOD as a recent addition to St Paul's West End business community. Jerry snapped this group shot of the MOD team- say cheese!!

Hole in the Wall?

Yes! And a fantastic one at that!

The Wienery was featured on Diners Drive Ins and Dives a few years back. I can see why. This place  is like a food phenomenon. You walk in and the interior screams nicknacks, then you pull up a stool at the counter, your greeted by one of Pat's friendly staff and your adventure begins.

This place doesn't just serve hot dogs. You also have your choice of burgers, melts and Wiene-wiches, which I can only assume are the mixes of sausage and meet that play harmoniously on your hoagie.

Plus, where else can you get a Mock Duck Philly? As a vegetarian, it's hard to come by. The Wienery not only serves quality meats, but they have fantastic Vegetarian and Vegan options, too. Can you say Mexicali Tofu Dog? Oh yeah! It's a tofu dog done up right with onions, cheese, baked beans, and peppers.

Hungry for breakfast? They have it all day long. The Wienie MacMuffin sounds fantastic with a veggie meat option!

Friday, October 5th, Go Green Line Fridays is supporting the Wienery between 11AM and 2PM.

We'll be there, Dog in hand!
